With 29 covered cancellation reasons, this plan covers far more than the basics.
Trip Interruption If your trip is cut short or you need to return home early due to a covered reason, JourneySmart reimburses up to 150% of your non-refundable trip costs — including the additional transportation expenses required to get you home or back to your trip.
Accident & Sickness Medical Expense With up to $100,000 in emergency medical coverage per person, JourneySmart helps protect you from the high cost of unexpected illness or injury while traveling. Coverage includes physician services, hospital stays, prescription drugs, and more.
Emergency Medical Evacuation & Repatriation If a medical emergency requires transport to the nearest appropriate facility — or transport home — JourneySmart covers up to $250,000 per person. Return transportation, transportation of traveling children, and bedside visit transportation for a loved one are all included.
Trip Delay If your trip is delayed 12 or more consecutive hours due to a covered reason, JourneySmart reimburses reasonable additional expenses — meals, lodging, and more — up to $150 per day with a maximum of $1,500 per person.
Baggage & Personal Effects Lost, stolen, or damaged luggage and personal items are covered up to $1,500 per person, with a $300 per-item maximum. Passport, visa, and other travel document replacement fees are also included.
Baggage Delay If your checked baggage is delayed or misdirected by a common carrier for 12 or more consecutive hours, JourneySmart reimburses the cost of necessary personal items — clothing, toiletries, prescriptions, and eyewear — up to $250 per person.
Sports Equipment Rental If your sports equipment is lost, stolen, damaged, or delayed by a carrier for 12 or more hours during your trip, JourneySmart covers the reasonable cost of renting replacement equipment — up to $500 per day, maximum $2,000 per person.
Missed Trip Connection If a covered delay causes you to miss your trip departure by 6 or more consecutive hours, JourneySmart reimburses the additional transportation costs required to join your departed trip — up to $500 per person.
Pet Kennel If a covered trip delay extends your return beyond your scheduled date, JourneySmart reimburses additional kennel fees for your cat or dog — up to $300 per pet.

How to File a Claim
We're here to help if you need it.
Claims are handled directly by your insurance carrier, as they are the ones responsible for reviewing, approving, and paying claims based on your policy.
While we don't make claim decisions, our team is here to support you every step of the way - whether that's helping you understand the process or answering questions along the way. Our goal is to make sure you feel confident in what to do next, without navigating it alone.
Filing a claim is simple and can be done online through a secure MyIMG account.
→ Start your claim at https://www.imglobal.com/claims-center
Step 1: Start Your Claim Create or log into your MyIMG account at imglobal.com/member. Navigate to the claims area and follow the prompts to submit your claim. Have your policy information and travel and incident details ready.
Step 2: Upload Supporting Documents You may be asked to provide documentation such as:
- Trip confirmations or receipts
- Medical records or physician statements
- Airline or travel supplier documentation
- Proof of delay, cancellation, or interruption
- Police reports (required for theft or accident-related claims)
These documents help verify your claim and allow for a smoother review process.
Step 3: Track Your Claim After submitting, you'll receive a confirmation. You can return to your MyIMG account at any time to check your claim status or upload additional documents.
Step 4: Receive Your Reimbursement Once your claim is reviewed and approved, reimbursement will be issued based on your policy coverage. Processing times may vary depending on the complexity of the claim.

10-Day Free Look Period
We want you to feel completely confident in your purchase. That's why JourneySmart Travel Protection includes a 10-day free look period from the date of purchase.
If you review your policy and decide it's not the right fit for any reason, you may cancel within 10 days of purchase and receive a full refund of your premium — provided that:
- No loss has been incurred
- You have not yet departed on your trip
- No claim has been filed under the certificate
If all of these conditions are met, your cancellation will be processed and your premium will be refunded in full. Upon cancellation within this period, all coverages under the certificate are considered invalid from the beginning.
After the 10-day free look period has passed, the premium for this certificate is non-refundable — even if you later cancel or change your travel plans.
Coverage under JourneySmart Travel Protection cannot be transferred to another traveler, but if your plans change and you're not sure what your options are, reach out to our team before your departure date and we'll help you understand what's available to you.
Includes a free look (review period) so you can purchase with confidence and review your coverage after checkout.
