Coverage amounts and benefits are subject to deductibles, coinsurance, maximums, exclusions, and limitations as outlined in the Certificate of Insurance. Pre-existing conditions are excluded except as provided under the Acute Onset benefit. This plan is not subject to and does not provide benefits required by the U.S. Affordable Care Act. Please review the full Description of Coverage for complete details.
Key Benefits
Comprehensive Medical Coverage
Covers hospital room and board, ICU, surgery, physician charges, diagnostic testing, prescription drugs (up to 60-day supply per prescription), physical therapy, chiropractic care, home nursing care, durable medical equipment, and more — all up to your selected overall maximum limit. COVID-19/SARS-CoV-2 is covered the same as any other illness.
Emergency Medical Evacuation & Reunion
Covers up to $1,000,000 (lifetime) for emergency transportation to the nearest appropriate medical facility — not subject to your deductible or overall maximum. Emergency Reunion covers up to $100,000 for a relative to fly to your bedside if you are hospitalized, including lodging and meals for up to 15 days. Bedside Visit provides up to $1,500 if you are admitted to an ICU.
Repatriation of Remains & Local Burial or Cremation
Covers transportation of remains home up to your elected overall maximum limit. If burial or cremation at the location of death is preferred, coverage of up to $5,000 is available as an alternative to repatriation.
Political Evacuation
Provides up to $100,000 (lifetime) for transportation to the nearest country of safety or your home country if the U.S. Department of State issues a Level 3 or higher travel advisory after your arrival. You must contact WorldTrips within 10 days of the advisory being issued.
Return of Minor Children & Pet Return
If you are hospitalized and unable to care for dependent children traveling with you, their return home is covered up to $50,000. If your pet is left unattended due to your hospitalization, pet return transportation is covered up to $1,000.
Trip Interruption
Covers up to $10,000 for economy transportation home if your trip is interrupted due to a covered event — such as destruction of your principal residence, death of an immediate family member, or following a covered Emergency Medical Evacuation.
Travel Delay, Lost Luggage & Passport
Travel delay covers accommodations and meals after a 12-hour covered delay requiring an unplanned overnight stay (up to $100/day, max 2 days). Lost checked luggage covers up to $1,000 ($50 per item). Lost or stolen passport/travel visa replacement is covered up to $100.
Natural Disaster — Replacement Accommodations
If you are displaced from your planned accommodations due to a natural disaster, replacement accommodations are covered up to $250/day for up to 5 days.
Border Entry Protection
Unique to Atlas Travel — if you are traveling on a valid B-2 visitor visa and are denied entry to the U.S. at the border, transportation back to your country of origin is covered up to $500.
Crisis Response
Covers up to $10,000 for ransom, personal belongings, and crisis response fees and expenses in the event of a kidnapping or express kidnapping. An optional Crisis Response Rider is available to increase this coverage up to $90,000, including Natural Disaster Evacuation.
Personal Liability
Provides up to $25,000 (lifetime) if you become legally liable for accidental bodily injury or property damage to a third party during your trip. An optional Personal Liability Rider can increase coverage to $75,000.
Terrorism
Covers eligible medical expenses up to $50,000 (lifetime) resulting from an act of terrorism, provided the act does not involve biological, chemical, radioactive, or nuclear agents and you have no involvement in the act.
Acute Onset of Pre-Existing Conditions
While pre-existing conditions are generally excluded, Atlas Travel covers sudden and unexpected acute onset of a pre-existing condition up to the overall maximum limit, and up to $25,000 for Emergency Medical Evacuation — provided treatment is sought within 24 hours and all eligibility conditions are met. You must be under age 80.
Optional Riders
Customize your coverage with optional add-on riders:
Optional Accidental Death & Dismemberment Rider
Available to members ages 18–69. Adds an additional $25,000 AD&D lifetime maximum (death or loss of 2 limbs: $25,000; loss of 1 limb: $12,500). Not subject to deductible or overall maximum.
Optional Crisis Response Rider
Increases Crisis Response coverage up to $90,000 per certificate period and adds Natural Disaster Evacuation coverage of up to $10,000 for evacuation to the nearest safe location plus economy airfare home.
Optional Personal Liability Rider
Increases Personal Liability coverage from $25,000 to $75,000 (lifetime maximum), including third-person injury, property damage, and related third-person property up to $7,500.
